With the brand new Zenless Zone Zero Version 1.4 right around the corner, we’ve been greeted with “Combat Intel” trailers for agents Asaba Harumasa and Hoshimi Miyabi. I know many have been awaiting Miyabi, and I’ve only seen Asaba a few times within the game and various trailers, so seeing both in action will help me know if I want to pick them up or not.
While I’m not a fan of Asaba’s English VA, I am a complete fan of the play style that HoYo has given to him. I’m not very fond of Bow and Arrow types usually, but I find that this character looks extremely fun to play as due to the B&A with the fact that he’s dual wielding swords. A mixture of ranged and close-ranged combat, on top of what looks like either targeting or weakpoint acquisition. Also, it appears as though this character will also be electric element, but attack; which is something I haven’t seen since Anton of Belobog industries.
To be fair, the role that this character would represent has already been filled on my team by Anton. Also, since Asaba is a character that HoYoverse is giving to you for free, I’m pretty sure he’ll be A-Rank and therefore, probably not worth dumping resources in unless I specifically need a team made up of Section-6; which I won’t if I plan to pull Miyabi since Tsurugi and Soukaku are already within my possession.
Overall, I think this is a massive win considering he looks fun to play as and everyone will get him. Nice addition, HoYo!
If you’ve had even an inkling of interest within Zenless Zone Zero, then odds are you’ve seen this character at some point. She’s the draw-sword character of the game, the leader of Section-6, Hoshimi Miyabi. People have been waiting patiently for her arrival, and some have been stacking up their Polychromes specifically to ensure that this agent doesn’t slip through their possession, even if they miss their initial 50/50. Hell, a friend named Hana told me that she was so popular during the beta leading up to the official release of Zenless Zone Zero that they had to DISABLE her because players weren’t picking anyone else!
You first encounter Miyabi by her mono y mono battle vs the Hollow Tyrant Nineveh, doing a singular strike that, well ineffective, was dazzling to look at. Also, she dropped from building height down to the ground without a scratch on her; definitely showing she’s powerful, though still not enough to take down a massive ethereal by her lonesome.
The trailer shows that she does have a striking resemblance to Vergil of Devil May Cry. While a lot of this is because of her specifically sword style and the color blue, it’s also due to her attacks. Specifically, things like when she dashes through and slashes come behind her that are circular in motion similar to Rapid Slash, and also having an ultimate which heavily resembles Void.
To be fair, I have no idea whether-or-not I’ll pick up Miyabi since draw-style characters aren’t my style; if she has an overzealous sister who fights more inline with Dante…then maybe. We’ll see. She is cute and does look fun, and even has the hair glow from RWBY’s Yang. I can see the appeal of the character and will be checking out the demo to see if she fits my sensibilities!
