This episode was finishing up the “Green Tea and Sanctuary” episodes that were focused on the Cioccolata and Secco pairing. We got to see confirmation that the mysterious man in the wheelchair waiting at the colosseum was none other than Polnareff; though we could already tell that. Also, we got a glimpse of Bucciarati possibly going to die by either the powers of Golden Wind running their course on his undead body or Doppio’s surprise attack.
There is something I do not understand about Polnareff concerning his position and the arrow which can unlock greater power within a stand use. I want to explain my theory on this.
First off, Polnareff is incredibly handicapped; he has two prosthetic legs, his right eye also seems to be of no use as it is faded out. I believe that Polnareff wanted to stop Passione, and so he tracked down their boss and fought him mono y mono. However, Polnareff quickly learned that his Silver Chariot stand could not match King Crimson’s and was severely injured and left for dead. I believe Polnareff survived and began to research any possibly means to defeat a user with a stand that powerful. The only other person who has survived trying to find out about Diavolo is Bucciarati, but he’s technically walking dead.
Considering that Polnareff has referred to “King Crimson” has invincible, and even remarked in this episode about its stand powers, why did he not contact Jotaro? Sure, King Crimson’s stand ability can erase a period of time and leave only its after effects, but Jotaro’s ability COMPLETELY stops time, meaning that it would freeze that moment and Jotaro could kill him during the freeze. Also, if the arrow can help elevate your powers, why would he not give it to the person who already can manipulate time? It makes absolutely no sense to me.
Doppio seems as though he is about to kill Bucciarati, but he also saw a flash of Diavolo within him for a mere moment. There is going to be a dead stand user one way or the other, but I think he will die naturally due to the causes of him being undead. No idea how they will go about learning about the arrow from Polnareff if Doppio is around, no idea how his cover as the boss’ subordinate (and being the boss himself) will be revealed either.
I feel like this fight carried on entirely too long between our protagonists and their enemies, but the episodes did not have filler. To be honest, I feel like I am just impatient because I want to see what happens and how everything comes to a head when they find out who Doppio is. Nothing to do but wait for Episode 33! I hate having to wait whole weeks because of things like this, but it constantly proves why JoJo is always worth the wait.
