【STREET FIGHTER 6】C.Viper Gameplay Trailer

Share This Post:

Crimson Viper is a veteran fighter who first made her appearance during Street Fighter IV as well as Marvel vs Capcom 3: Fate of Two Worlds. While being a CAPCOM character, many said that she had the look and play style of someone from SNK. The defining characteristics of C.Viper were her seismo cancels, feints, and mechanical difficulty that made those skilled in execution truly shine with her.

Many believe that Street Fighter 6 simplified many things, and maybe they’re going to do the same with Crimson Viper. Is CAPCOM able to keep the technical difficulty which makes this character an absolute monster in the hands of training room demons and execution masters? Well, let’s check it out.

  IMPRESSIONS

Before we even get started, we need to talk about that introduction. The burn kick she does shows off some OBVIOUS jiggle physics on those thighs which immediately caught my attention. This new outfit for Street Fighter 6 is already a distraction due to the sexiness of it; high split on a short skirt and boob window on her top, but the jiggle really set it off. While you’re still stunned from the subtle shaking, they proceed to blindside you with some absolute insane gameplay.

As I said before, C.Viper is known as a technical character where you need to be a master of Seismo cancels and feints, same with Thunder Knuckle, to make the most use of her. Canceling connected normals into Thunder Knuckle cancels, into more normals to extend combos and link together hits which would not be possible otherwise. You literally had to learn these in order to optimize her, and that’s across both Street Fighter IV and Marvel vs Capcom 3.

Immediately we are treated with a seismo feint into a high jump, landing a cross-up on her opponent. This got me excited IMMEDIATELY. As the trailer continues we see many things related to this; Thunder Knuckle cancels into normals, multiple Seismos in a row by canceling the High Jump into another Seismo, etc. THIS is what I wanted to see!

Though we also get treated to some brand new things. There seems to be follow-ups for both Thunder Knuckle and Burning Kick. These were not present within the original game. Also, there is either a brand new move or simply an alternative version of Burning Kick we haven’t seen before. What I am assuming is C.Viper’s Level 1 Super takes inspiration from her Ultra 1, having a spinning and kicking animation just like it. Also, what I presume to be C.Viper’s Level 2, is similar to her Street Fighter IV‘s Ultra 2, just in reverse order.

Also, we get to see her Level 3 where Crimson flies into the air with the opponent, using her boots to boost her before slamming them into the ground, face first, with that same force. Overall this is brutal, but does remind me a bit of Akuma’s Level 3.

The classic costume from Street Fighter IV looks absolutely amazing as well. In fact, I feel like it does more justice to the character than her new outfit for Street Fighter 6 does. Perhaps this is because the newer one has a higher focus on sex appeal while the older one is sexy within is own way, but gives off a more powerful and professional look simultaneously. While I have no problem with sexy costumes, I feel like someone who’s so professional they call her “Ms. Perfect” wouldn’t be wearing an outfit like that unless it specifically helped whatever business she was currently engaged in.

Overall, I feel as though CAPCOM has succeeded in giving us C.Viper as she was meant to be; threatening when in the hands of a master and a joy to watch as a spectator. Having a list of flashy moves for the pyromaniacs and electro-junkies proves entertaining, while cancels and feints will make her a mix-up monster and mind-blowing for those who will look on in awe at the combos and setups given. Well done. Well done.

So Street Fighters, how did you like the trailer? Excited about the classic costume and C.Viper’s play style? Will you be trying her when she comes out? Let me know in the comments below! Also, don’t forget to follow my socials!
