Grasshopper Manufacture Inc. (GhM) has managed to break the space-time continuum to ensure their latest blood-soaked action game ROMEO IS A DEAD MAN launches earlier than expected on 11th February 2026 on PlayStation®5, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam.
ROMEO IS A DEAD MAN marks the first brand-new IP from GhM and Goichi ‘Suda51’ Suda (No More Heroes trilogy, The Silver Case, Shadows of the Damned) in more than five years, and blends GhM’s trademark ultra-violent bloody action players know and love, with an original (and wholly bonkers) story.
ABOUTSnatched from the brink of death by his donning of the rad mask “DeadGear”, FBI Space-Time special agent, Romeo Stargazer, sets out to hunt the most wanted fugitives in existence across the multiverse, armed with a heady arsenal of guns and close-combat weapons. And as if being stuck in a strange limbo between life and death as DeadMan and tasked with navigating a shattered space-time continuum isn’t enough, Romeo also has to contend with the sudden disappearance of his mysterious girlfriend, Juliet.
“Now we’ve won our game of chicken against *cough* a certain twice-delayed 2026 release, we can reveal our cards and confirm we never intended to launch in May in the first place,” Executive Director/Scenario Writer/Producer, Grasshopper Manufacture, Goichi ‘Suda51’ Suda, said.“We’re warping space-time to put the finishing touches to ROMEO IS A DEAD MAN ahead of its launch next February.”
Suda51 is someone I only know from “Let it Die” and how insane that was. However, ROMEO IS A DEAD MAN seems on par with that insanity and the violence is over-the-top! The fact that it seems to be a Hack n’ Slash will definitely make me want to play it, considering so many Souls-like exists and that’s not my brand of game (usually).
I’m curious about the plot, mainly because the character names are Romeo and Juliet. They seem to be on opposing sides while also attempting to understand the other one; at least, what’s making Juliet such a wildcard.
Overall, I’m curious about how they do this, as well as since they seem to be doing Episodes. Nothing to do but to wait and see what Suda51 and GhM has in store with us!
