“In Season 1 we’re also launching Frame Perfect: a competitive-themed skin set where a portion of proceeds go toward supporting TOs across the world. This includes helping fund prize pools and covering tournament production costs for future 2XKO events. It’ll be available for purchase in the 2XKO store during all of Season 1, and we’re planning to bring it back around each Major.”
—2XKO’s Plans for Competitive Play in 2026
“Frame Perfect” sounds like an excellent idea for 2XKO, as it will allow players to directly help fund larger prize pools for the competitive scene through active support. Buy a skin, contribute towards the scene of your community. I believe this is very similar to what CAPCOM did back in Street Fighter 5 to help with the CAPCOM PRO TOUR. I am happy the developers over at Riot Games are copying this idea.
However, I do have some suggestions regarding how Frame Perfect is implemented.
LET THE COMMUNITY DECIDEI feel like sketches should be made and voted upon by the community to see what is made into official costumes. Another idea is that artists create costumes, are decided upon by the staff, then voted upon by the community at large to become the Frame Perfect costumes for that round. I feel like it brings in the entire community and helps to maximize sells and support by having skins within the shop people actually want.
To be fair, the reason I want this system is that I am currently not a fan of MOST of 2XKO’s current costumes. They seem to be alternative costumes from the official League of Legends game, but considering how dated they are and how fighting games appear in motion, I’d prefer something more aesthetically pleasing than some of what we’ve currently have (God-King Darius and Neon Strike Vi come to mind). I figure things made specifically for Frame Perfect with multiple choices will allow the developers to gauge costume interest and select the most beloved design.
