【Demon Slayer】Infinity Castle Main Trailer

For those of you who watch the series, you FULLY understand my hype for Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle. The most recent seasons ending set us up for the next TRILOGY of movies that will conclude this anime series. Considering how tragic the world of Demon Slayer can be, we know fully well that we’re in for a ride. Though the series itself has already ended and many know (like my sister and one of my best friends, B-Botto), I’m still in the dark and so building my anticipation.

Also for those of you who do not know; this will be available to view in Japan on July 18th, 2025 and will then be available 2 months later in the United States on September 12th, 2025. So while it sucks that I have to wait 2 additional months to view this movie, I know it will be worth the wait (but considering how popular Demon Slayer is, I am shocked it’s not a simultaneously global release).

  IMPRESSIONS

The animation from UFO Table seems to be even better; but that’s a given considering that they’re able to work on a single movie rather than putting their efforts into creating a full season worth of 23-minute or more long episodes on a regular releasing schedule. More than that, it feels like the stills are absolutely amazing and was given the utmost care. I would be lying if I didn’t say that a good majority of Demon Slayer‘s popularity did not come from the superb work done by UFO Table in how they’ve brought the story to life; it truly is a spectacle for the eyes and makes intense moments all the more fulfilling.

In the trailer we are greeted with three direct confrontations; Shinobu (The Poison Hashira) squaring off against Doma (Upper-Moon 2nd), Zenitsu squaring off against a demon who seems to know him, and finally Tanjiro against Akaza (Upper-Moon 3rd).

Shinobu squaring off against the 2nd highest of the 12 Kizuki is concerning considering her attributes; she uses poison because she does not possess the strength to behead demons. I always felt that her style will be enough to defeat regular demons, but that she would act in more of a support role against Kizuki due to the constant mental tax of having to worry about being poisoned. We will see.

The next is Zenitsu against someone who knows him. The biggest thing that has me curious about this fight is how serious Zenitsu is. Throughout the ENTIRE series he has been a cry baby; someone who is scared to fight and only does serious damage and brings out his potential when in a trance-like state where his body relies on instinct and the training he’s done up until then. When he fell into the Infinity Castle during the most previous season finale, he was wide awake and ready for combat. Hell, even now within the trailer he seems particularly stoic and threatening. That’s scary.

The final one is Tanjiro against Akaza, which is giving me flashbacks to Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Train where he was powerless to help Rengoku in his battle against the 3rd ranked Kizuki. Tanjiro having to wash the Flame Hashira die to a fleeing Akaza definitely must’ve left a mark on him, and I’m sure he’s both filled with burning fury and simultaneously fear from the Upper-Moon 3rd. How he handles this will be amazing, but I definitely don’t see him being able to handle Akaza solo; especially since Rengoku was amazingly strong and died to him what appears to be relative ease.

I didn’t see how boar-headed friend Inosuke; my guess is that he’s either not within this particular movie within the trilogy or is being saved for a surprise that we’ll see later on within the movie.

I’m definitely excited! I really wish it would release July 18th or maybe….well, can’t really say here. I will be in theaters September 12th to view it in IMAX, so here’s to a long, 2-month wait!
